The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA)’s website hadn’t been updated in eight years. Through focus groups and surveys, it was clear that the site no longer met the needs of it users. The layout, design, and tools were more of a hindrance than an aid. In addition, it was not mobile friendly. In 2015, a website redevelopment team was created to scope the project and hire a company to design and implement a new website. The APEGA team was involved in all aspects of the design and implementation. Furthermore, APEGA Communications staff rewrote all content to better reflect the needs of online users. The new site launched on January 25, 2016. It meets modern website standards and expectations, including being mobile friendly. Based on user feedback, the new site has been enthusiastically received as a vast improvement in design and function.
